What Would You Like To See In The PS4?

Given the age of the PS3, it makes perfect sense that there should be plenty of chatter floating through the internet about when Sony will finally roll out their next generation gaming console, the PS4.   At least, that makes sense to this gamer, and the hordes of Sony fanboys that are out there.  At the moment however, Sony seems content to upgrade the existing PS3 with new hardware and software.  Things like firmware and software upgrades to the blu-ray  player, as well as the motion sensing Playstation-Move which is obviously a nod to the much more commercially successful Nintendo Wii.

I can see, where that strategy would make a lot more sense to the good folks at Sony where they’re still trying to recoup their investment the aging PS3.  I’m sure things at Sony would be a lot more lucrative if the world never came to know and love the Wii.  But, I think if Sony can learn a lesson here, they’ll have no problem getting back in the game (pun intended).  What the Wii really introduced to the world, was not the cool motion sensing controller and nunchuck.  What they really introduced back into gaming, was a focus on fun.  Fun is what gaming is all about.  Fun will trump fancy hardware and superior graphics any day.  Of course, if Sony can find a way to retain their technological edge, and bring the fun back, then the Wii may soon become a distant memory.  In the meantime, I’m going to continue surfing the Playstation 4 forum for any possible news of future press releases.

Heard Anything About The PS4?

I haven’t heard a lot of official news about the new Sony Playstation 4, but all the tech sites and fan-boys certainly seem to have a lot to say.   I have heard some teasers from the Sony ivory towers, that they like to have a ten year gap between their product model roll outs.  That would be heart breaking, as it means I wouldn’t be playing PS4 games till like 2016.  I don’t think I can wait quite that long.  Part of the reason I think it will happen a bit quicker, is that Sony really has some ground to make up in the console wars, after taking a beating from the Wii and 360.  Considering the superior technological superiority of the PS3, if I were in charge I’d be in a hurry to get the PS4 out the door.
