Have A Relaxing Games Online

“I don’t think board games are going away,” says Toy Industry Specialist, Chris Byrne. “In a screen-driven world, we really need human interaction — that is something that board games have that hasn’t been replicated.” Over the years, boardgames are famous for surviving economic downturns. Parcheesi and the Monopoly board game fared particularly well during wartimes, for instance. Despite the onslaught of video games and the constant stream of blockbuster movies coming out, Byrne says that many families find good, old-fashioned board games to be less expensive and even more fun.

Sometimes the best way to find exciting new boardgames is to see what the best sellers are over at www.amazon.com; the Internet’s biggest online marketplace. Currently, their top-selling boardgame is The Settlers of Catan, an award-winning strategy game that has players collecting resources to build roads, settlements and cities. Amazon calls this game “fun and engaging for both children and adults” and they say the game can be played in hundreds of different ways. Their second best selling game is Quiddler, where players are dealt point-awarded alphabet cards, which they must use to create a word with only one discard. Bananagrams is a very similar word game that doesn’t require a pen or paper, doesn’t take too long to play and comes in a neat banana pouch.

The 2009 American International Toy Fair in New York City introduced some great new boardgames this year. Pants on Fire (3 or more players, ages 10+) is a fun story-telling game, where a player writes brief stories about each of the three topics revealed. For example, a “bad date” or a “first job,” and the other players have to guess if the story is “true or false.” Another fun boardgame, Pressure Point (3 to 8 players, ages 10+) has players racing against the clock to give answers down a list of questions as quickly as possible, while other players bet on the number of correct answers they think the player will give. Masters of Venice (2 to 5 players, ages 10+) uses games strategy where players must act as 15th century Italian merchants trading spices, silks, gems, iron and grain, while playing alternate characters like thieves, harbor masters and gondoliers. Time’s Up: Title Recall (4 to 8 players, ages 12+) is a fun party game that asks players to guess the famous person associated with famous books, movies, songs and albums. A new 10th anniversary edition of Time’s Up has also been released this year.

According to www.squidoo.com writers, the best of the 2009 boardgames is Cranium, a new hot-selling game with a number of expansion packs and subsequent editions. There are four card decks with a typical Cranium game; one that has you sketching or sculpting with clay; one that has you humming, whistling, impersonating a famous person or playing charades; one that acts like a trivia board game; and one that has you unscrambling words, spelling words backwards, guessing definitions and filling in the blanks. Other top games of the year include Scattergories (a word game), Monopoly Deluxe (classic board game), Malarky (a bluffing game), Wise & Otherwise (word game), Pictionary (drawing game), 25 Words or Less: People, Places, Things (word game), If… Questions For The Game of Life (party game) and Loaded Questions (party game).

The Boardgamegeek.com A Free Online Game For You

Are you addicted to a strategy board game? Are you looking for new games? Do you wish to gain game hints or become the trusted opinion in your area of boardgame expertise? Online communities are a great way for individuals to connect with other board game enthusiasts. You can share reviews, ratings and advice. You can find players to battle, contests to enter or conventions to attend. The largest and most respected site of this kind is www.boardgamegeek.com, which has more than 250,000 active members.

One reason why gamers come to www.boardgamegeek.com is to find new a strategy board game to buy. As of December 2008, the top-ranked game was Agricola. The average playing time for this game is 2 hours with 3-4 players. Agricola players start out as a farmer with a wife and from there, they must build a life for themselves. Using cards and double-sided tokens, players will try to build a house, grow crops during different harvest seasons, feed the children, raise livestock and survive. The countless strategies that may be employed in this game are what truly make it fun. The top game of 2007 (and #2 game on the 2008 list) was Puerto Rico. This 90-minute game is best played with four players, who act as colonial Puerto Rican plantation owners who must grow indigo, corn, tobacco, coffee and sugar better than their competition.

Often, boardgamegeek.com runs special contests by sponsored game companies. For instance, in June, R&R Games offered a free copy of their new “Masters of Venice” game if users answered a series of brief questions. Also, Thoughthammer was giving away one 0 gift certificate, two gift certificates, seven gift certificates and Game Ink t-shirts to players who could beat their Mega Meeple online board game. If waiting every few months for another contest doesn’t sound appealing to you, then consider visiting the BGG Marketplace or Trade Center to wheel and deal to buy games.

WoW Hunters and their pets

Hunters are a unique dps class and they rely on pets in all aspects of the game since pets are their trademark. So when you choose a pet, choose him wisely!. We can sort them into three groups, based on their abilities: Cunning, Ferocity and Tenacity. Click here for more on WoW Hunter Pets

Cunning pets

Cunning pets are perfect for PvP encounters as their talents will provide utility, mobility and flexibility. This group mainly consists of spiders, bats, birds of prey, sillithids, chimeras, ravagers etc. Each of them poses a very different abilities i.e. spiders can immobilize targets, bats can stun etc. Mostly for PvP hunters use spiders due to the immobilize effect. Cunning tree talents offer you more stamina, speed, survivability to your pet and different unique abilities that can save you in PvP, i.e. roar of sacrifice will take off 30% of incoming damage from you and transfer it to your pet.

  • Web – Puts the target in very sticky webs while preventing the movement for 4 sec.
  • Sonic screech – is the bats ability that can stun a player for up to 2 seconds

Ferocity

Ferocity pets emphasize damage output of you and the pet itself above utility or survivability. They are mostly used in PvE aspect of the game like raids and dungeons, but sometimes are also used in PvP to give a nice niche to your group set up. Pets that have ferocity talent trees are: wolves, core hounds, moths, cats, raptors and others.  Usually their special abilities will do additional damage, but some will increase your and your pet’s damage. Click here for more on Hunter Pets

Some hunters tend to use Core Hounds for PvP as their debuff from lava breath will decrease the casting speed of the victim for 25%. Well timed lava breath on enemy healer combined with burst damage on a target can sometimes win matches. Wolf’s Furious Howl on the other hand is considered to be the most useful special ability for max dps in raids. Talents of Ferocity tree will either increase your pets survivability or boost your dps.

Tenacity

Tenacity talent tree focuses on survivability of your pet more than on damage or utility and is considered to be best for tanking. Their special abilities will give them higher survivability and force enemy to attack them rather than you. Some of these pets are viable in arena but very few, while for raiding most of them isn’t useful in raids. Mainly crab is viable for pvp as it can pin the target in pace for four seconds while other pets are mostly just for tanking and leveling.

What is the best choice for me?

The best choice for pet isn’t probably simple to answer, it depends on your plans PvP or PvE, and your spec of course.

Best pets for PvP

Most hunters in arena use spiders or crabs due to their immobilization abilities. Scorpids were once very popular but haven’t been seen lately in either PvE or PvP content.

Best PvE pets

Best choice for running dungeons and raids is wolf as their special ability will boost your dps, however some hunters tend to use cats which is not the best option. Beast mastery is focused on your pet damage and thus spirit beasts would probably be the best choice as they are BM hunter only pets with highest damage. For leveling purposes a good suggestion would be a bear or boar as they are the best tanks and even the turtle can prove to be excellent. Click here for more on WoW Guides

Best pet for the best hunter!

How do I choose the best WoW pet for me?

Depending on what type of content you decide to focus on and your spec there are several different options when it comes to pet choices. Content of World of Warcraft is split into two categories: PVE and PVP. When you have decided on type of content you will pursuit than you can start with choosing your spec, gear and pet. Click here for more on Best Pet For Hunter

PVP Content

PvP content is basically split into Arena, Battlegrounds and world PvP. Hunter’s utilities make them an excellent class for PvP. Hunters play style will depend on his spec but in the end it all breaks down to who will gain control of the fight, and to do so you will have to keep your enemies in check. Hunter is very dangerous when he has range from his target but rather weak when in your melee range. Make sure that your target is always at the desired distance and use your abilities to accomplish that.

Disengage, traps and various shoots can make this happen but sometimes that is just not enough. Most common spec for PvP hunters is definitely survival due to high amount of burst damage and survivability, MM or marksmanship is somewhat not so common spec as it offers less survivability followed by beast mastery in third place. Question that you need to ask is which pet will help me be in control? Answer is, usually Crab and Spider, and those are the most common used pets in arenas and battlegrounds. Every hunter needs to know how to properly kite his targets otherwise he won’t be able to defeat his enemy.

Spiders

Spiders are very good in PvP probably even the best and immobilize effect from their web ability with cunning talent tree is the reason why most hunters use them. Web ability has a rather short cool down of 40 seconds and if you use it properly with the rest of your abilities it will be more than enough to always keep a distance from your target. The fact that web attack cannot be dispelled makes it even better. The week point of them is that they will not produce a lot of damage like ferocity pets or have survivability of tenacity pets. They are also easy to feed as their diet is meat! If you would like more information on WoW guides check out one of our popular guides here: Dugi’s Ultimate WoW Guide

Crab pets

Crabs are also very popular for PvP for their pin effect which makes targets immobilized but the down part is that the effect is dispellable. Good thing is that Crabs are Tenacity pets and thus have high survivability.

PVE

Raiding is most popular and fun aspect of PvE content. Main task of any hunter in raid is of course doing maximum dps, after all they are a pure dps class. Beast mastery dps is too weak when it comes to raiding and both Marksmanship and Survival are hand in hand superior to it. Pets for PvE hunters are basically easy to pick as ferocity is the way to go for PvE, ferocity is all about doing the maximum damage. Deciding on which pet is best for PvE content is easy and it is definitely wolf because he is superior to other ferocity pets! Furious howl ability will boost both yours and your pets attack power by 320 for 20 seconds with 40 seconds cool down. Talents of ferocity tree are built around increasing your pet’s survivability and damage of both you and your pet’s damage done.

Rogue PvP Secrets – The Basics of Rogue Strategy

As you’re probably aware, Rogues are the most feared of all PvP classes. That’s because they can take down most any foe, leaving them staggering around like a fool and unable to defend themselves, regardless of that foe’s class. Still, no class is invulnerable, and understanding your Rogue’s many strengths and few weaknesses will surely make you even more annoying to your player versus player foes. Let’s look at your Rogue’s strengths first.

Rogue PvP Strengths

I’ll say it right out. Few classes are as effective, or as feared in PvP. Because you are so well-rounded, it’s hard to pick out your greatest strength. If you can learn to execute them properly, your Stunlocks are brutal. Built around a combination of attacks, a well-executed stunlock will leave your opponent helpless, literally standing there in a daze while you slaughter them. Get this right, come up with a good Rogue PvP build, and you’ll be very hard to beat.

Your ability to poison your foes is probably your next greatest strength. Most enemies flee Rogues, and your Crippling Poison makes it much harder for them to get away, while your Mind Numbing Poison slows their ability to cast spells against you. Combine these with the rest of a Rogue’s abilities and you’ll drive your enemies to distraction as you terminate them.

Rogue PvP Weaknesses

One big weakness of being a Rogue in large battles is that other players don’t like you very much. Most players have been terminated while left helpless by stunlocks and poison. They will be happy to take you down. This puts a big bullseye on your back, as your opponents will jump at any chance to kill you.

Your biggest weakness (aside from the fact that every opponent wants you dead) is that executing stunlocks properly is complicated. If you get distracted by some Hunter’s pet, or the Shaman you’re after gets their Earthshield up in time, and you could be in trouble. Also, remember that you need to get in close. Let a ranged fighter keep their distance, and they’ll rip you to pieces.

These are just the basics of Rogue strategy, strengths, and weaknesses in PvP. Most decent players can do well in PvP with just basic Rogue strategy. But to really dominate you need more than that. You’ll need to have an excellent Rogue PvP build, and a great Rogue strategy. A Rogue PvP guide will give you far more information on every aspect of playing a Rogue, including specific advice on talent builds, gear selection, and taking out any class of opponent.

Really understanding your Rogue PvP strengths and weaknesses is a great way to improve your performance. To learn more about this and other PvP techniques in a guide that has helped others generate a 2214 Arena Rating in weeks, just Click Here.
