Sixaxis And Dualshock:PS3 Controllers Explained

Meet the PlayStation 3, generally known as PS3 and developed by Sony computer Entertainment.  The PlayStation 3 offers stiff competition to Nintendo’s Wii and Microsoft’s Xbox 360 as a part of the seventh era of video game consoles.  The remote Sixaxis and DualShock 3 are the current PS3 controllers available.

The title ‘Sixaxis’ is a merging of ’six axis’ which constitutes directional movements.  It is also meant to indicate motion sensitive functions.  These wireless PS3 controllers can operate for up to 30 hours by charging to the maximum capacity.  The battery is entirely removable and Sixaxis are provided with the notes of the simplest way to go about the process.

A major feature of Sixaxis PS3 controllers is the ability to interpret both translational acceleration as well as rotational orientation along all 3 dimensional plains.

All Sixaxis PS3 controllers have LED lights on the side.  On the top of the controller you will see numbered LED outlet indicators which are 4 in number.  These identify and distinguish various wireless PS3 controllers.  As you turn on the PS3, you can open up the menu displaying the battery charge of all the PS3 controllers which are in synchronization, by tapping the PS button.  And this is only one of the options shown on the menu

The PS3 controllers use more intense analog sensitivity than DualShock 2, which is the immediate predecessor to DualShock 3 discussed earlier.  These increase the 8 bit reception of the DualShock 2 to a ten bit precision.  The frame underneath the L2 and R2 buttons has been removed and made into triggers.  The range of travel decides the degree of analog input rather than the range of pressure.  There is a jewel like PS button incorporating the PlayStation brand in place of the Analog mode button which can be discovered on older dual analog releases.  This permits the controllers to switch inputs, turn the consoles or controllers on and off, enter the home menu, etc .

Next, The DualShock 3 is a vibration controller by Sony for PS3.  The DualShock 3 was primarily pioneered as a secondary peripheral for the original PlayStation.  An improved PlayStation version came with the controller that was originally incorporated in the Sony twin Analog Controller.  The DualShock 3 remote PS3 controllers come with all of the features of Sixaxis along with vibration effects.
