Your regular PSP games will come on disc, or UMD as they are known. When you download PSP games however, you are going to be putting them straight onto a memory stick/card. (Some people call them memory sticks, and some people say memory cards, but they are in fact the same thing.) The standard PSP memory card of 32mb is just not going to be big enough to download games onto, PSP owners should generally get the largest one they can afford. These days you can find fairly affordable 2 or 4 gig models on Ebay and Amazon quite easily. Once you have your new memory card, you will need to format it before use. Now that you have a selection of games downloaded, you will need to transfer them from your PC onto the memory card of your PSP. This is pretty simple, all you will need is an ordinary USB cable to connect the two, and the PC should then identify the PSP as some form of removable drive, like a flashdrive or removable HD. All you need to do from here is to open up the PSP using the PC and drag and drop the required files onto the PSP memory stick, much as you would with any other removable drive. When you are doing this, be sure to send the files into folders called PSP, and then GAME on your memory card. If they don’t exist you will need to create them, and I would recommend using all caps.

Batman Asylum the Top 2009 Game Reviewed

Batman Arkham Asylum Teaser Video

Super hero games range from uninspired and dull to pretty damn fun, but those in the second class are very much in the minority.  Good old Superman, as an example, has been reeling from one poorly thought out title after the other for ages and so has the Batman games scene.  Even the best of the Batman games over the years haven’t captured the feeling of being under the cowl, facing down maniacs with his fists and wits.

From what we have seen so far, few approved titles have captured so credibly and completely the ethos of its inspiration as Arkham Asylum.  It’s something of a patchwork of influences, but respectfully moulds them into its own unique take on The Dark Knight.  It’s not surprising that Warner brothers.  Has labelled the game as this year’s massive Batman event.  And with Rocksteady creating such a thrilling, atmospheric experience, Arkham Asylum is sure to be one of the most important, and best, Nintendo games of 2009.

Batman can be perched on a high ledge in a wide open room as he watches some of the Joker’s bullies rifle thru drawers, and the graphics detail is fantastic.  Batman switches to investigation mode employing a blue colored visor that among other stuff lets Batman see his enemies through walls and identifies things like guns and knives.

Combat is easy with single-button-press punches, stuns and redirects and is context-sensitive, depending on which way the thumbstick is leaning.  Take-downs are performed by pressing RT + Y or B+Y when close to an enemy and are cinematically highlighted by a random slow-mo payoff cam.

Combat is also a fluid, simple process.  Batman is obviously more powerful than the bulk of enemies he’ll see, and can chain together up to 10 attacks immediately.

Gameplay footage of Batman : Arkham Asylum, explaining some of the mechanics behind the Joker, and his style in the game looks truly good.  Move in the shadows, induce fear amongst your enemies and confront The Joker and Gotham city’s most notorious villains who have taken over the asylum.

Gamers move in the shadows, start fear amongst their enemies and confront the Joker using a wide range of Batman’s gadgets and capabilities, players will rally imagine that they have become the Invisible Predator.

Stealth sections typically involve methodically picking off enemies one by one, and can generally be identified on entering a room where gargoyles flank the walls.  Batman uses these gargoyles to support his weight, using his grapnel gun to zip up out of the way and safely survey the area.

‘With this level of invention and awareness of detail it’s disheartening that Arkham Asylum’s biggest failing is with some of its boss battles.  While the build-up and design is often exquisite, the fights themselves regularly rely far too heavily on tedious, rinse-and-repeat Playstation game tropes.  The final encounter particularly, comes about rather brusquely, and is so vapid as a gameplay experience it can leave a touch bitter taste after the terrific ride that came before it.’

Although even that commentator obviously considered his negative view on this to be minor point, ending with :

‘But that ride is what matters most, and is undoubtedly what’ll you remember after the end credits have rolled.  With a sequence of combat and stealth challenge rooms with online leader boards rounding off the package, Arkham Asylum is a brilliantly polished and totally engrossing prospect.  Few approved titles have captured so authentically and absolutely the ethos of its inspiration as Arkham Asylum.’

Our recommendation : Moving Batman around in Batman Arkham Asylum as Reviewed is always a treat when you think of yourself as a badass slayer.  The gameplay is free flowing allowing for dynamic fighting sequences and skill.  Great involving and immersive fun to lose yourself in!

World of Warcraft Gold Secrets

3 methods for making gold in World of warcraft are discussed in this WoW Gold Guide.

The 3 methods include flipping, grinding and some professions that are particularly good for getting gold.

Grinding:

First let’s look at Grinding, an easy yet often tedious way of making gold. Grinding for gold gets better as you level up, especially after leveling up to level 50. Grinding alone has the potential of making you up to 50g/hr.

At level 50, one of the first places to check out for grinding is Winterfall Village in the Winterspring.

Making gold here is really straight forward, just grind the many furbolgs you’ll come across.

Everlook Forest is where you’ll find the Yetis. The ease at which they can be taken out make them good for grinding.

There’re some good grinding spot in the Eastern Plaguelands so once you reach level 80 go check it out. You’ll find plenty of mobs to kill and make some easy gold along the way.

For a fantastic intro to making gold quickly check out the WoW Gold Guide

WoW Gold Guide intro to Flipping for Profit:

Flipping, or selling things in the Auction House, is another great way to make gold if you know how. This can mean either selling items you yourself gathered or stuff you buy at the Auction House and then sell it for a higher price.

Flipping and Grinding can be really good together. Grind mobs that have the higher drop rates and then go over to the Auciton House to flip the stuff you’ve got.

The best thing to do first is just observe whats actually selling and for how much gold. Try getting these items and you’ll do much better with flipping.

Good timing is often the difference between success and failure in the Auction House. The more bidders to better chance you’ve got to making good gold so go to the Auction House when the most players are there. Next, you don’t want to flood the market. If you put lots of the same item on auction then the bid price will go down making you less gold.

To get a walk through of this just check out one of the WoW gold guides on the market.

Professions:

Among the professions that are really good for making gold are Mining, Skinning and Blacksmithing.

Profession can be little slower just becuase you’ve got to level your profession to make more gold. Making gold is really easy after you’ve leveled up. Flipping can also be used with this method.

Beginners Guide to World of Warcraft

WoW Beginners Guide

WoW an Introduction

World of Warcraft or WoW as it known, is a “Massively Multi player On-line Role-Playing Game” or MMORPG. This means thousands (sometimes tens of thousands) of players,  from all around the World exist in the same on-line game world at the same time. They leave behind the real world to undertake heroic quests in a land of fantastic adventures..

In the game there are two opposing factions at war with each other: the Horde and Alliance. When you have decided which side to play there are nine classes of character to choose from: Druid, Hunter, Mage, Paladin, Priest, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock and Warrior. Each class has its own unique set of talents and abilities. You can, depending on the class of character that you have, choose to build your character’s talent trees for damage-per-second (DPS), tanking, healing or a combination of these.

There are ten playable races: Dwarves, Gnomes, Humans, Night Elves, Draenei, Orcs, Tauren, Trolls, Undead and Blood Elves and many professions your character can play: Alchemy, Black smithing, Cooking, Enchanting, Engineering, First Aid Fishing, Herbalism, Leatherworking, Mining, Skinning, Tailoring, Jewelcrafting, and Inscription. (Note: Within the Rogue class there are two unique secondary professions: Lock Picking and Poisons).

There are thousands of quests to complete with many different kinds of weapons and transportation. In addition, there are four types of Realms which will be the very first decision you will have to make before playing World of Warcraft. The aim of the game is money and reputation which will enhance your power and skill. A good place to start is to find a decent World of Warcraft Levelling Guide to help you through this mystical world.

Within the game itself there are two “modes” of character:

  • Player Characters (which are controlled by real people)
  • Non-Player Characters (which are controlled by the games’ software)

So you can find yourself playing a “real” person as well as the games created opponent.
Your character can earn copper, silver or gold to fund your adventures. In addition you will need to work on the different skills for your character.

There are many guides on the market and all do pretty much what they say they do but some have the additional feature of forums and members areas to help you level your character from 1-70. Many also have detailed gold guides and the latest up to date information on, for example, Wrath of the Lich King which takes you up to level 80! With that in mind though players are free to go at their own pace and pit their skills against multiple opponents. Click here for more information of finding some great beginners guides: Best WoW Guides.

World of Warcraft is Blizzard Entertainment’s 4th game in the Warcraft series and is now played by over 10 million people world wide! It starts 4 years after the setting of Warcraft III in the world of Azeroth.

A Computer Game Environment of Your Own

Have you ever fantasized about building a video game environment of your own? A place where you and your friends could spend hours and hours playing your favorite games without interruption? Or how about a place that really shows off your game fetish? It's really pretty simple to create such a place and you don't need to rent out a video game hall to do it. This article will introduce a few ideas you can use to build the ultimate gaming center.

The first thing that you want to do is maintain a happy household if you’re family member. Trying to play a mean game of Super Mario Tetris or Halo 2 can be impossible with kids running around the house and screaming bloody murder. You won't be able to enjoy the latest role-playing game when the wife's nagging you about bills or undone chores too. Keep a happy home, keep a happy marriage, and your time spent playing video games is heaven away from heaven.

It’s no secret that some games require as much concentration and focus as when studying for a calculus exam – and there’s nothing more frustrating than when you can’t figure out how to get through to “the next level” of a game. This is no time to be distracted and if home life isn't what it could be, you'll never be able to concentrate on your game. Strive to make home a place to unwind first – then work on enjoying your games.

You can next dedicate a place in your home as your exclusive game room. This will not only emphasis the importance that gaming is to you (and to your family members), it will also become conducive to the mentality that you need to play a fun and relaxing (albeit, serious game). Budget permitting, decorate the room with all the amenities that you want. You could add a recliner (or two for your friends), a small stand to hold snacks, a bookcase for your games, and you could even add a small refrigerator and microwave (just in case). Your intent here is to declare the space as yours and that it serves only one purpose: pure gaming pleasure.

What you’re after is a place that’s completely and totally pleasing to you, both aesthetically and functionally so that you’ll enjoy your time there.
