Buying a Computer For Gaming – 5 Main Features

While console gaming is a multi billion-dollar industry, computer gaming has become one of the biggest markets in the computer industry and especially within the mobile computing market. Some of the most popular games include, Call of Duty, Warcraft, Grand Theft Auto, Fallout 3 and Halo, which was originally made for xBox360 and is now available in a computer version.

Laptops are a first choice for gamers, with specially made high performance machines that allow gaming to be taken anywhere. Gaming laptops are very expensive and considering refurbished laptops is a great option, as well as buying cheap laptops online.

5 Computer Features Crucial for Gaming
High performance laptops are needed for the optimal gaming experience. Rean on for the 5 main features for gaming laptops.

1. Graphics:
A gaming computer will have the best graphic capabilities and especially for 3D games. Some great graphic cards come from ATi, NVIDIA and Intel.

2. VRAM Memory for Video
Make sure to choose the correct VRAM you will need, that is video deddicated memory that comes with a graphics card.

3. Memory and RAM
A large amount of RAM laptop memory is necessary to run games as they are very large programs to prevent freeze ups and crashes mid game. A minimum of 2GB of RAM is necessary for the serious gamer and allows for flawless running of the comprehensive game graphics, video and especially for 3D games, but 3GB and 4GB is really best.

4. Processor:
A super preforming processor is needed for gaming, the best today is the Intel Core 2 series.

5. Display Size and Options
For gaming you will want as big a screen as you can get. A 17-inch wide screen will deliver a magnificent gaming experience, but it is also important that it be able to handle graphics for 3D gaming. While there are several display resolutions available, one of the best one today is WXGA, which stands for Widescreen Ultra eXtended Graphics Array and has a display resolution of 1920×1200 pixels with a 16:10 screen aspect ratio.

Best Models for Gamers Laptops
For many gamers building a laptop by hand is the ebst option for gaming. However, for most of us who are not tech savvy it is better to buy a model that is pre built for performance with all the necessary features.

Some great gaming models are from Maingear, Alienware, Toshiba, the Dell XPS series, and HP.

Logitech Wheel Comparison

Racing Games have never been so exciting! The technology now exists to provide realistic racing environments through the use of steering wheels with forcefeedback, LCD screens with crystal clear display and speakers delivering the right acoustics (with bass!). Naturally the right type of gaming seat is needed!). GranTurismo is a fantastic game – so well so, we’ve actually know of customers who buy complete gaming seats just to play the game.

We love games so much hear that we just want to share our experiences so everyone can have as much fun as us.

Driving Force Wireless

Before we had the GT and G25 in the labs, we had so much fun with the Driving Force! For us, this was one of the devices that really started a revolution in gaming…. bye bye controller pads and keyboard! We had two people on a couch (sofa!) and one playing on a bean bag.

To my surprise, the Driving Force Wireless works well for control and feedback in the game. More importantly, the feedback you get from the device covers bumps on the roads, car crashes and traction loss.

The controller can be used on the lap, which is pretty much where it was designed for – racing from the comfort of your armchair, although you can fix it to a table or desk. The Driving Force also comes with Pedals, which is something that is really the missing piece when playing racing games.

Irrespective of whether you’re playing on a PC or PS3 the Driving Force works fantastic -for arcade games, I just happen to prefer a console.

Summary…

The Driving Force is 1/2 the price of other products from Logitech, which more than justifies its position. Recommendation – dont leave home without one, seriously, this should be part of your wardrobe!

Driving Force GT

yummy. Thats my first words on this!

Having a wheel that provides full rotation is really good, as opposed to older wheels which weren’t much better than a gaming pad.

The difference we found with this wheel compared to similar priced wheels is that the steering wheel has a rubber coating, as opposed to just cheap plastic. The realism is truly awesome. Playing racing games can get a bit out of hand if you really get into the zone, so having a gaming wheel that can take a battering is a must.

We initially tried the DFGT on a table, as we were in the middle of rebuilding the VisionRacer, and we’d dismantled the Fanatec kit – and we found two things. Firstly, once you’ve played (sorry – experienced!) a racing game with a wheel – you can’t go back to a keyboard or joypad. Once you have experienced a gaming seat, like VisionRacer or Fanatec, sitting on a couch or at a table just doesn’t compare…. its all good. Its also easy to see why the wheel is the official wheel of Gran Turismo.

The wheel has been around for sometime now, and we’re glad to say it’s aged well and still current. This product wont be covered, as it is being superseded by the Driving Force Pro.

Summary…

Fantastic Product. It seems like an early release of the G25.

Logitech G25

The G25 is the next model up from the Driving Force GT. Aesthetics are everything, and I’m glad to see that the inside represents the quality goods that the packaging displays. So when you know that the pedals are made of metal (and not plastic) it gives you some idea of what to expect in the product -something that’s solid and hard-wearing. Overall experience is the real winner these days?

The really cool thing is that there is gearbox included too, which is much better than its predecessors. Specifically, you get a D-Pad and the expected eight buttons, which is great when you need to change views on GT or program for another game.

The majority of people I know have previously preferred the automatic approach, although I’m knowing and seeing more people prefer the manual approach for the added realism, and the gearshift box supports 6 gears – one of which is reverse! Cool!

The choice is yours, sequential control for the die hard fans – or automatic and manual for the traditionalists.

The steering wheel is actually made from hand stitched leather, making it feel so realistic to play with.

We never bothered connecting the G25 to a table – after you’ve experienced a gaming seat, there just isn’t any going back! The real value in these components is when they’re integrated with a gaming seat, 5.1 surround sound and a good LCD. Once you’ve tasted this in action – you wont want anything else!

In Summary…

Well, we discussed the need for feedback on the pedals for sometime, and only came to the conclusion that its nice to have and would improve the game, albeit marginally.

If you want the best, then the G25 is the only product out there and has the edge, albeit small, on the Driving Force GT.

We’d go as far to say that the feedback electrics are quieter on the G25, rather than the DFGT – but hey, with 5.1 speakers rareing, who cares!

Free DS Games Downloads – A No, No?

The Ds is one of the most popular handheld gaming devices these days. Still, no gaming device is very valuable without compatible games to play. In these harsh economic times, acquiring these games in the cheapest, easiest way possible has become a high priority for virtually all gamers. To this end, downloading Nintendo DS games is a real solution and requires only an Internet connection and a few basic facts before a game library can be built.

To begin with, the results of any popular search engine query for downloadable games will list dozens of site possibilities. Several sites are advertised as free, and others require a small membership fee. The average gamer in most cases will tak eadvantage of the free websites immediately. In the end what is better than hours of entertainment for little or no csot? This reaction is understandable; however, it does not come without risk.

The Internet is full of possibilities, but it is also rife with potential threats to your personal computer in the form of malware. Malware, such as viruses and spyware, can compromise your security, both technological and financial. Unfortunately, this harmful software is most frequently found associated with sites advertising themselves to be free. Moreover, file-sharing services and applications, such as P2P or Torrents, also pose a significant risk of infection due to the massive amounts of traffic these sites generate by promising “free” content and games. Hackers often attempt to bind, or attach, their malware to the very games being dowloaded. To say it clearly: downloading from these sites is definitely not recommended. Stay away.

Therefore, it is much more preferable to consider the paid membership site for Nintendo DS games downloads. The members-only sites have much stricter controls over their content and increased speed due to dedicated bandwidth and a more controlled user base. Site owners will have monitoring tools in place to prevent malware infection, secure channels for membership downloads, and, possibly, belong to consumer associations, such as the Better Business Bureau. Further, the owners of membership sites have a built-in incentive to keep the site updated with all the latest releases for downloading Nintendo DS games. All these benefits combined account for a much greater level of customer satisfaction and peace-of-mind.

For more information on downloading Nintendo DS games safely and effectively, please visit the highly recommended website PocketDownloadCenter and start building your gaming library via downloads today.

Something To Consider: Ds Games Downloads

Most DS owners have heard that there is a way to download ds games off the internet, hoever, most have no clue how to do it. You might even be starting to think that it’s not possible, that it’s an internet myth, so first things first. Yes, you too can learn how to download games for DS!

And now that we have cleared this up, the next step is to learn how to get downloaded ds games to your console. For this you will need either an SD card or a MicroSD card. Make sure you get one with either built-in flash memory, or a flash drive the card goes in to. These are easy to use, easy to find, and relatively inexpensive, so don’t be intimated.

Next, you’ll need to go online and actually find the Ds games you want to download. There are lots of ways to do this. Torrent sites and P2P file-sharing are both free, however both come with risks. You should know by now that these sites are one of the main sources for viruses and spyware. Another thing is that you get no guarantee what so ever and no one care if the game actually works or is really the game you intended to download.

There are also plenty of free download sites out there, however you’ll soon find that downloading DS games from these sites is not only slow-going, but as with torrents, the games don’t always work. They carry the same risks regarding viruses and malware, and since free sites are often inundated with advertising, you’re likely to encounter harmful adware there, as well.

But all is not lost!

After you have done some research you will admit that Ds download sites are a great way to go. There are a number of them out there, but PocketDownloadCenter is one of the best of the bunch. The download speeds are super fast, they have all the best new games for the Nintendo DS and all your old favorites, too, and more are being added all the time. There are no monthly fees, and for about the same cost as purchasing a single new game for your DS, you’ll get instant access to unlimited virus-free downloads, plus a step-by-step tutorial for beginners and 24/7 technical support if you need it. Which you won’t.

The Next Best Gold Guide?

Review: Warcraft Millionaire

There’s been a lot of gossip on the forums lately about the next big thing to what many of us might call an overcrowded WoW gold guide market – that of Warcraft Millionaire. In this gold leveling guide review we hope to uncover the truth about WM and if it’s actually any good.

I’ve read a lot about Brad, the author’s, claims and was quite sceptical at first that anyone could have made 1 million gold in a game that has a gold cap of 214,748 gold, 36 silver, 48 copper. However, as you will see this is not an exaggeration so don’t read anything into it just yet! Click here to read the full review: WoW Gold Making.

Is This Gold Guide The Real Deal?

Yes, this guide is for real! Not only does Brad provide video proof of his claims on his website, he provides one of the most comprehensive gold guides I’ve seen yet. He provides six guides, including: a 1-60 guide, a daily quest guide, a grinding guide, a, an Auction House guide, a limited items compendium and a Outland guide.

It’s best to start with e beginners guide as there are many strategies and tips that even a medium level player may not know and they will show you how he made his million gold completely legitimately. It’s not just a laundry list of grinding locations (though he does provide these), it’s also a complete step by step process that walks you through how to utilize the grinding locations and gold making methods to get the the best possible outcome. Click here to read the full review: WoW Gold Making Guide.

WM is different from other gold guides in that it gives you the complete outlook from the perspective of an expert.
Starting with the beginners guide and going through each level of the game to describe how you make gold, even before you reach Level 10, you will not feel left out if you don’t yet have a Level 60+ character in Outland!

Clearly Brad’s years of practice and experience playing WM show with this guide and it is something a bit special. That in itself makes it one of the best gold guides recently written.

Xbox 360: What Are the Three Red Lights?

The Xbox 360 is one of the hottest gaming consoles out in the market today. With the latest graphics technology combined with some of the best games available, you will definitely have a lot of fun with this particular gaming console. With the Xbox 360 pro system you can play with your local friends or play with other gamers around the world online. Whatever types of games you like to play, you can be assured that xbox will have it.

However, you have to face the fact that although the Xbox 360 is one of the best gaming consoles available today, there are technical issues that you may face while you are playing with it. The ring of death is one of the problems. Whenever you see 3 red lights by the power button, then you will know your gaming console has failed.

Ever since the release of xbox 360 pro system this technical problem has existed. The lights around the power button each have a specific meaning that you should be aware of. By knowing what the light means, then you will be able to know what is wrong with your Xbox 360.

If one red light goes on that means that the gaming system has failed and the console has a hardware failure. The gaming console is overheating when 2 red lights come on. It will usually tell you that you should turn off the Xbox 360 gaming console and allow it to cool down.

The most unfavorable situation is seeing all three red lights. This is commonly known as the red ring of death. What this means is that your Xbox 360 gaming console has suffered from general hardware failure and that it can only be repaired if you ship it back to Microsoft.

Normally, people experience this problem while they are playing a game. They usually experience freezing without warning. The 3 rings of death will be seen after the console is shut down for a few hours then turned back on.

Due to the negative response the ring of death caused on their Xbox system, Microsoft extended the warranty. There are a lot of repair guides on the market today for example the 3 Red Light Fix for the xbox 360, because of the many problems associated with the ring of death.

Howerver it is always better to prevent this from happening rather than facing repair. If you want to escape the dreaded red ring of death on your gaming console, always try to keep it cool and well ventilated. You should also know that the red ring of death occurs due to overheating which can damage the console. Do not put your Xbox console on a display case. Its much better to put the console in a well circulated area, either that or purchase a fan to and point it at your xbox console.

You might want to try playing with your Xbox 360 on an air conditioned room. When the circulation is good you can avoid an overheating condition and console failure. To prevent the red ring of death you must have good ventilation.

The Benefits of Downloading DS Games

DS game downloads are a popular method for getting the hottest and best DS games onto your rom card and transferred to your DS console. Unfortunately, much of what you can download from bit torrent sites and P2P sites are flooded with spyware, adware, and potentially hazardous viruses. These things make the time downloading ds games absolutely worthless and it is not a fun experience at all. Free sites and spyware ridden downloads often do not work, and if they do, they are poor copies and rarely have perfect play.

When you download DS games, they are saved to your PC and you can then transfer them to a special SD card that you pop into your DS consoles game slot. Afterwards, you will be able to load the game and play it in its entirety without any freezes, skips, or other game malfunctions. All DS downloaded games are compatible with SD game rom cards, and have a 99% success rate for copying and playing. Occasionally there are games that are difficult to get copies of, but updates and errors are fixed promptly. Good download sites do not only offer up to date information, tons of ds games, updated on a daily base, but also virus free, fast downloads.

You can however find a better method to download DS games, such as a paid website with downloads, will benefit you greater in the long run. Games are prescanned for viruses and adware, they are in general 100% safe to download and play.

One of the best parts about downloading DS games is that you can be one of the first people you know to get your hands on the newest game, or more rare and hard to find titles. You get the opportunity to shine in the spotlight and play killer games, while your friends watch on enviously. Since the games are close to free, you can have many more games and gaming opportunities than you would if you paid cash for the physical copy of any game title.

I highly recommend joining a DS membership site to download ds games from. The reason being is that when you download DS games from a subscription site such as PocketDownloadCenter you are putting your money towards the website providing users with safe and reliable download opportunities. In addition to the downloads being virus free, they are also smooth copies with no flaws, and you have a wider range of choices.

How and Where To Download Nintendo DS Roms

The retro-gaming movement continues apace, but some people simply play older games on their computers because their old system has become unreliable or they don’t want to spend the cash for the latest DS games. Whatever the reason, roms may be the answer.

Roms of all kinds suffer from a sort of marginal legality. In general it can be said that like with old fashioned computer games, owning a copy of a game you already own does not break copyright laws, nor is it illegal to play these games. In addition most ds roms have a onetime licence permitting only a temporary trial. The difficulty in that games made for Nintendo, Nintendo DS, Gameboy, et al. may simply and easily be copied to a computer with no possibility of verifying whether the copier owns or has even ever seen the system or game in question.

With the arrival of Japanese games, the issue becomes even more muddled. The confusing thing is that some games have never been released outside JApan, so theoritacally owning one of them breaks international copyright laws, however, you have no other option than downloading them if you want to enjoy one of these games. For this reason, many ds rom sites exist in a kind of tenuous no questions asked environment where they carefully mouth the words of the law, while actively pursuing agendas at least tangential to the spirit of the law. This can make searching for roms a dangerous proposition as unsavory individuals uninterested in the well being or preservation of society sometimes promulgate bugs, viruses, and malware. Before looking for your favorite Nintendo DS games roms, check out the best in firewalls and anti-virus protection, lest your computer become terminally ill.

If you are looking for a great place to download Nintendo DS Games, check out Nintendo DS games Downloads. You will not only get detailed information on how to download ds games and learn about the best sites to download cool ds games

How To Download DS Games In Some Easy Steps

You want to play the newest, hottest game, but you don’t have $35 to go down to Target and buy it, so what do you do? If you really have the desire to download ds games you definitely should make yourself aware of the risk involved when downloading. Nintendo DS games downloads can be risky!

Several Person-to-person sites (such as LimeWire, BitTorrent, etc.) can only get revenues to run by trusting companies that deal with unethical practices such as putting spyware on your computer, pop-up ads that annoy people (adware), programs that can hurt your computer (malware) and another nasty threat… viruses. You don’t know the other computer, and what could they have? Where have they been clicking and surfing? It’s best not to use a P2P site.

So you want to go to an emulator site? A good idea, don’t you think so. But which one? Can you be sure that the speed will be fast when you download it? Let’s tell the truth. No gamer wants to wait some hours for a download like Zelda to complete. You shouldn’t either if you have a high speed internet connection. Go with a place where you can trust the downloads will be fast every time, every game. Because while those other slowpokes are still waiting for the game, you can be playing! Aren’t you the smart one?

Now if a site requires a membership, they will take better care of their downloaders. They know what their customers want… fast, adware adn virus free directly delivered to their DS whenever desired. Usually these sites require a free membership, such as PocketDownloadCenter, and sites like these have an expansive collection of ROMs available for download. They have thousands of titles and new games are added on a daily base; so in case there is a game you would like ot get, it is very, very likely you’ll find it htere.

Now you’ve downloaded it to your computer, but you want to play? How do you go about doing that? Well, that’s not too hard. They have Secure Digital cards, which are DS capable. Most of these cards have between 1 and 8 Gigabytes of space. You can transfer the data that way and download it to your DS and you’ll be playing in no time. This is easy: Just get yourself an R4 card and a flash drive that holds the SD card, also — this will allow you to make the transition easy. Just download the game to your SD card through the flash drive, then put it in your R4 card and hook the R4 card up to your Nintendo DS. All told, this will cost you about $50 to $100 but will pay for itself in four games!

That’s all you need to know. Good luck out there and when you play as Blaze The Cat in Sonic Rush Adventure, think of how quickly she moves, but your ds downloads went even faster!

Where To Download Homebrew Ds

Whether you have been a DS frek since the beginning 2004 or only play it from time to time, you may have the impression that you have seen it all. The Nintendo DS is the fastest-selling handheld game console of all time, with 20 million units sold in the United States by 2008. Sure, NDS games are fun, but you just can’t help but feel like you’re missing out on something. If your current games and applications just don’t seem to be cutting it, it’s time you turned to the homebrew community.

Homebrewing isn’t a new concept; it’s been going on since the age of Atari. Basically, un-licensed games made by amateur programmers are written onto third-party cartridges. Homebrew Nintendo DS Games is the connection between commercial material and something unique, personalized. Homebrew applications range from web browser, pdas, to movie players.

There are two devices that are first needed before you can run any homebrew applications. The first is a Flash cart. Flash carts are adaptors that plug into the GBA slot, and allow you to use media from a flashrom or insertable flashmemory. There are two different kinds of flash carts. A Slot-1 cart plugs in where the DS game normally would, and acts as an all-in-one device, eliminating the need for a booting tool. Slot-2 carts are the older, more supported storage carts. They plug into the GBA slot and have either built-in flash memory or a memory card slot.

The next thing you need to set-up a homebrew system is a booting tool. Each and every time something is programmed and manufactured by Nintendo, it is authenticated.” When you try to play something made by a third-party programmer, authentication is required. A booting tool is a device that contains code which will allow you to authenticate Nintendo DS homebrew games. You will need to insert booting tools right into the Nintendo DS, which do not contain any media. If you are using a slot-1 flash cart, the cart acts as its own booting tool.

So now that you’re wired for DS homebrewing, where do get the homebrew Ds games? Most homebrew Nintendo DS games and application scan be downloaded from the interne tfor free, however, in case you are a programmer, you could program them yourself. Since Ds homebrew is getting more and more popular people ask about the ethics and legality of it. Is it legal to program your own games for the Nintendo DS? It’s a grey area. Modifying the actual hardware is illegal, but DS homebrew doesn’t technically modify the DS console, you’re only bypassing the software. As there is no business attached it is absolutel ylegal to share homebrew Nintendo Ds games and applications. Downloading a cracked version of an offcial NDS game for free, though? It is definitely illegal.

Homebrew is an excellent opportunity to experience what is out there, beyond the clutches of corporate marketing. And since DS homebrew doesn’t have to be just games, you can download a whole host of interesting applications, from instant messengers to e-books, thus expanding the usefulness of your handheld gaming device. As Nintendo said, “Touching is good”, but re-touching is even bette
